Nifty Hair Tie

I know you Hunnies are creative, so I'm passing on this photo. I new friend from India gave me this hair tie today. It's basically a flexible wire (about 8") surrounded by segments of clear plastic tubing and decorated with beads. It actually stays around a ponytail quite well. She said longer ones could be worked into a braid as well.

What I find facinating about it is not this actual execution of the hair tie, but what certain substitutions in it's design could create.

It reminds me of the barettes my mom used to make decorated with braided ribbon and beads on the ends. (Heather, I know you must have had these . . . were they a WNY thing?)

I'll let you girls mull on this.

(Guys, next time John comes up with a new computer program I'll let him fuel your creative energy with that.)

Yes, I distinctly remember those barrettes with the braided ribbon! How I loved those! I can practically see one right now just closing my eyes, hee hee! Thanks for the happy memory! :)

Yep! Had some to match almost every outfit. They actually came up in conversation the other day with the moms in playgroup. Good thing we all have boys!
