Shop 'til 'ya drop

Denmark closes for the Easter holidays. Many people, and their children, had the entire week off. John was one of the few that didn't, and he's going in Holy Thursday and Good Friday just so he can get some work done when the lab is empty.

The grocery stores are usually closed from Holy Thursday through Monday. This year we'll have a reprieve on Saturday, as a few grocery stores will be open for part of that day. However, the stores will probably be insane on Saturday, and I noticed that even last Tuesday stores were running out of milk, eggs, butter, and the like.

It just so happened that we ran out of many heavy things this week (potatoes, apples, sugar, and juice), so I've been working like a little ant getting us stocked up before the stores close. I think I've got us stocked adequately for the next few days.

I'm hoping to get up early and score us a chicken Saturday morning for a Sunday meal. I've had bad luck with frozen chickens (I had to pluck way too many feathers off the last one), so I'm sticking to fresh or nothing. Stores don't always stock them. Keep your fingers crossed for me! If the stores are out of chickens, we'll eat a normal meal.
