Spring soon
I'm so glad you had a good time at Disney, Genoveses. I can't even imagine being warm anymore, just like in summer I can't imaging being cold. I was outside for a while this morning kicking the ice on the driveway, trying to make it go away! Poor Janie wants so desperately to wear a pretty dress for Easter. I promised her she could but she'll have to wear a turtleneck underneath and wear boots to church! Did you know Thursday is the first day of Spring?? What do you think, would some form of fire melt the snow off the lawn? Any ideas?

I hear ya Karen. The boys NEED to get outside soon (for all of our sakes!). I didn't even buy Easter outfits for the boys this year. I feel like I am being forced to celebrate a holiday well before it's time; like Christmas in July! So depressing!
Karen - to answer your question: lots and lots of salt shakers.
SALT!! Of course. . . but then, the lawn might die. No slugs this year, though. :)
Our snow is melting/compressing- about down to 3" of icy stuff. The sidewalks and driveways are clear. We were out yesterday for over an hour poking at the icy snow and walking. Even that felt good.
I just bought a "muddy buddy" online for him- a kind of all-weather suit. It reminded me of the Danish snowsuits I miss so much. I'm hoping that we'll be able to get out more with less mud this spring.
Just a few more weeks to go and it should warm up!
Hee hee! As I am someone who was born on the first day of spring (and never had a warm birthday!) - my mother tells this story: she went into labor in the remote regions of Northern Minnesota, where they say it snow sideways because the wind is always so cold. They almost had to get her to the hospital on a snowmobile!
I do have to say, though, that the longer daylight hours are such a boon - at least we are swaddled up in our snowsuits and able to get in some good play before dinner . . . here's to happy spring, everyone!
P.S. Kris - I'd never heard of a Muddy Buddy suit - I am SO going to order some for the boys, thank you!!! I just wish they made them in adult sizes for me. Today the boys were happily splashing in the pouring rain and puddles whilst I got soaking wet! :)
I'll let you know how it works out when it arrives! It should come later this week!
