Rochester News
Its a sad weekend here in Rochester as Robert Wegman has passed away. He built an amazing company from a simple farm stand so many years ago. Last year Wegmans was ranked #1 in the Top Companies to Work For. This year they were #2.
On a much happier note, Wegmans is preparing for the return of Kris & John. I recently discovered the newest coffee flavored being served in the coffee shop....Danish Blend! I can't say how authentic it is so I'll save that for you two!

Enjoy the week, have a safe flight Matt and we'll see some of you this weekend!

You guys can't believe how much I'm looking forward to American grocery stores! It's not bad having to shop at four different places to get one's supplies, but it does get old after awhile. I can't imagine bringing everything home at once for a whole week!
We were in Tops at Christmas and I was flipping out at all the stuff, the size of the store, and the prices. (You'd think I'd remember all that, but I thought I'd built it up in my mind to be better than it was.) I actually brought soap home to DK- it was a third of the price, and the bars were almost twice as big!
Ohhhhhh, Weggies!!! I can't wait. I just might kiss the floor when I get there. (yuck.) I'll let 'ya know about the coffee.
You know the magnitude of Wegmans when you visit Strong Museum. In the children's museum there is a mini Wegmans store for the kids to shop at. Complete with mini carts, mini checkout lanes and working cash registers that even print receipts. Kids can shop for a huge variety of Wegmans brand items as well as plastic produce, cheeses and meats. My boys love it! We were there today and they "shopped" for almost 45 min. It really is an amazinging real experience and the kids feel like they are really shopping.
Yes, it's true - Wegmans is an entity unto itself to which no other store I've seen can compare. I also love how each branch has its own personality. Pittsford Wegmans is great when you're in the mood for a marathon workout. East Ave Wegmans is a test in patience as you try to SQUEEZE your cart past another in the tiny aisles. Hylan Drive is full of enterprising college kids up late on a Saturday night, looking for a snack. I could go on and on . . . :)
