We do NOT like green eggs and ham, Sam-I-Am!!!
It's been a wallop of a week, as some of you have now heard. Last weekend we decided to bite the bullet and feed the boys egg-whites for the first time. Three hours later, as I was getting Jayden up from a very fussy nap, I realized I didn't even recognize my son. Why? Because his eyes were swelling shut, his face was very puffy, and he was covered in hives and a rash. I ran out to give him to Dave, took a deep breath, and next went to get Corban, whose left eye was in the process of swelling shut. Three days and many doses of Benadryl later, they both finally again resembled our sons. Thank God they had no breathing difficulties, but the experience was one which took several years off Dave and my lifetimes, to be sure. We had bloodwork done, and got the difficult news yesterday that there are more allergies on board also: peanuts and milk, primarily. Oh, and the tests confirmed their egg allergy is through the roof. The weird thing is, the boys have cow's milk/cheese/yogurt all the time - it would appear their only symptom is their well-controlled eczema. And so now we begin trying to persuade them they really DO like the taste of soy (which Corban tested slightly allergic to also, mind you!) We meet with an allergist in December to try and make sense of all of this. Please keep us all in your prayers - Dave and I have bad colds and are praying the boys won't get them - as we try to sort through this situation. Thank you!

Milk or no milk - Yes, that's a big question we need to figure out an answer to. Dave and I are still feeling yucky (really hurts to talk today!) - thank you for your continued prayers!!!
