Dinner for One

John and I were looking back on our time in Denmark today. New Year's Eve is a big deal over there. Everyone (and I mean everyone) buys fireworks, and at midnight the whole city erupts. After fifteen or twenty minutes it's almost hard to see for all the smoke. It always seemed a miracle that the city still stood the next day.

Before the big midnight boom, there are other traditions. The Queen comes on the television about 11:30 or so to give her annual national address. Directly afterwards, Dinner for One is broadcast, every year, without fail. Everyone watches. Did they do that in England, Nate?

You can read about Dinner for one on Wikipedia here, or view it for yourself here. (Click on the top box, "Video, Dinner for One." It's in English.)

I have not seen it. I will watch it tonight at midnight. Something to look forward to.

Sounds like a fun tradition. Speaking of shows on right after midnight - did anyone happen to catch the New Years Friends episode, when Ross wears the leather pants that are too tight? That is truly one of the classic Ross moments!
