One year ago.

It's hard to believe that it was just one year ago in July '07 when we all congregated at my parent's house in Owego.

Well in the end, we can all call a friend; well that's something that I know as true.
In a thousand years, and a thousand tears, I'll come finding my original crew.
Cause to me, throughout eternity, there is somewhere we are welcome to go -
I said it's something free that means a lot to me: when I'm with my friends, I feel home.

I miss you all.

Wilber Baby #4

Declan Eire Wilber was born 7:51AM July 11, 2008. He weighs 7lbs 7 ozs and is 20 inches long. (This is the tiniest of the children yet.) Everyone is healthy and both are growing happier by the minute as they heal and get some sleep.

Declan is a Gaelic name meaning "full of goodness". Since our children have lived up to the meanings of their names we tried to choose wisely. We're hoping the trend continue.

I will let Heather (or I will later) fill in a more detailed story when we have some sleep behind each of us. Each of us have about 3 hours of sleep under our belt over the last 40 hours or so.

There are some pictures attached, but there are more at Flickr.

Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers,

All Hail the Whirley Pop!

Howdy! Just thought I should stop by and say, "THANKS!" to Karen and Nate for the tip on the Whirley Pop. When Karen first brought it up a few months ago I was using the air popper my aunt gave me in 1983. Needless to say, it was beyond it's lifespan. It was falling apart, over-heating, and (quite frankly) making lousy popcorn. Our micro is a little plate-warming job, so microwave popcorn was out of the question. I've been going through withdrawl.

I checked out the Whirley online, and then checked the company website. It was available in three stores locally: two in Clarence, which is north of Buffalo, and in Vidler's. Vidler's is a Five and Dime in East Aurora. It never ceases to amaze me as to what I can find in that place.

So a few months ago I went in search of the popper, and they were out. However, last week we had house guests. You guys might remember my friend Kelly from RIT. She came with her husband, Tony (also an RIT designer) and their two kids. We spent one day in East Aurora . . . and just happened to go to Vidler's. The Whirley Pop was in stock!!!

I made my first batch of popcorn last night, and it was wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Every kernal popped, and it was all nice and crispy. I'll be popping lots in the weeks to come!
