Stuff from here

HI! First off, I just noticed Matt's (or should I say Caleb's) contribution to the Hunny masthead. I love the quote! It's perfect! (Do you guys watch Mr Rogers?) I can't believe it took me until today to notice.

Second: I made it to my doctor's appointment earlier this week, and so far, so good. I've gained almost 4 pounds, which had everyone happy. Now I just have to wait for the local birthing center to contact me, and I'll go in for my first ultrasound. From what I can tell, I won't have another before I leave Denmark, so it looks like we won't know the gender of the baby until we're State-side.

Third: I'm just going to pass this on, in case anyone might benefit. There was an article posted on NPR this week about a new book concerning migraine management. I have no idea if the book itself is any good (it seems to focus on managing lifestyle and be fairly anti-medication), but it does have a nice list of food triggers that goes beyond the old "MSG and caffeine" mantra. It's fairly complete, and even if some of the triggers are a bit unusual, for example, bananas, I suppose if you're the one person whose brain can't take bananas it's good news. I'll be waiting for someone to publish an article on how to avoid barometric pressure changes without living in a bubble or moving to outer space.

Hey! Nate and I caught the end of an interveiw about this. Nate was a bit put off by the thought of limiting his coffee. I'll bug him to check out the NPR site if I dare...

I've lived life both ways: absolutely no caffiene in my diet (including soda) and drinking coffee on a daily basis. Niether way makes a difference, to me. Other people are much more caffiene sensitive.

I'm not big on the diet restrictions, myself. I've tried eliminating and adding different foods several times, and it doesn't make a difference.

However, if you happen to be the one person who can't take tyramine in the diet, or MSG, than it pays to know you can't eat salami, Knorr products, flavored chips, and most drs don't ever get around to mentioning those.

Hope it helps! Are his migraines any better! I'm still getting them prego- gotta tough them out for the first time in years.
