It's getting chilly!

Hello Friends! It's getting chilly over here. I know Texas is probably "hot" by our standards but is it at least cooling off for you? I'm sure Rochester and Buffalo are cool and cloudy. Today Jane and I are cooking up a pumpkin we grew to make into a pumpkin pie. I was afraid she wouldn't let me cook it. She's made a little pumpkin shrine in the living room using wood blocks on a hearth Nate made for the wood stove. The chimney for the stove is to be installed tomorrow! I'm a bit nervous about having someone put a hole in the roof! But, I keep encouraging myself with the contemplation of the "Smore Factor". In other words, I tell myself "If you want smores you have to let them put a hole in the roof."

Nate's work is going ok for now. The station is pretty busy with awards programs and he is editing all this week and next. He has heard of more lay offs coming in January. Meanwhile he has a big job with East Light doing a home improvement kind of show for a contractor in South Portland. It's stressful but very good income for the time being. It's a bit of a balancing act as far as loyalties. How much time does he take from Chanel 6 to work on the project, etc. The show airs on Chanel 6 tomorrow morning.
Let me put in some encouragement for you moms (Sabrina and Kristen) who have not yet experienced pre-school. It does seem expensive, until the first two and a half hours of freedom you've had in years! I now believe it's worth every penny to have both girls at school learning and interacting while I run errands, clean up or just read. The peace and sanity I've regained is unbelievable. Something for you to look forward to!
