Snyder Baby, 12 weeks, 4 days
We had our first sonogram this morning. I opted for what is called "double testing" here in Denmark, which means I get a scan at 12 weeks (plus a blood test) and another around 20. I was unsure at the time I decided for the extra tests, but I'm very glad I did it now. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have any doctor's visit until mid-July, let alone a sonogram. I feel better having a bit of reassurment.
It was way cool, but you Hunnies probably knew that already! I was amazed at how active the baby was. He or she was bouncing around like crazy. I can't believe I don't feel that, but the technician said that when you do finally feel the baby kicking, they're really letting you have it . . . these little kicks from such tiny feet don't register. The good news is, so far, so good. Everything looks fine. The baby is 2.75 inches. They've moved my due date to November 27.

Oh my goodness Kris! What a wonderful picture. Your little baby! Isn't it neat to see what your baby is doing right at that moment? Does it feel more real now? Anna and Jane both had different movements that I could feel inside and see when they were born. Anna was all feet and Jane was all elbows and hands. The slow stretch across the tummy was a killer by month eight. Thanks for the update!
Kris - that's great! You know, of all the sonograms I've ever seen, that one you posted has to the be very clearest and easy to make out.
So, are you and John finding out the gender, or making it a surprise?
whoohoo! hello baby snyder! That is a great picture- very clear and crisp. Your child has excellent teeth, and a cute lil round belly!
So will you still be in Denmark at 20 weeks? Can't do the math to figure that out.
There's an excellent documentary called "In the Womb", made by National geographic. We will have to lend it to you after you're here. It brought us closer to all those amazing changes happening inside at an incredible rate.
We will have a second sonogram at 19 weeks, and the tech is fairly certain we'll be able to find out the gender then, so long as the baby isn't too modest. That will be two weeks before we leave Denmark.
We plan to find out- it's driving us crazy every time we refer to "him ..." and have to add, "...or her," or the other way 'round (it happens pretty equally both ways).
I saw the second half of "In the Womb" over here, and haven't been able to find it again on NG to see the first half. We'd love to borrow it when we get in! The second half was great.
Yippee, what a great picture! Isn't it so amazing to start at that screen and try to comprehend this is all happening INSIDE OF YOU? So affirming!!! Here's to the little Hunny baby! :)
