The Youth of Today

I didn't want to let all of June pass by without adding my little observations. I'm sitting next to Naty while he edits his latest video project.. a B'nai Mitzvah. Did I spell that right? The "B'nai" is for twins. Anyway, I wonder when these extreemly significant religious events turned into parties with rap music, provocativly dressed teenage girls and wacky games. I guess most weddings are about the same. What has become of the youth of today?
For Father's Day Nate installed an air conditioner upstairs. That thing puts out a lot of cool air! We also went to a light house and ate ice cream over looking Casco Bay. What fun! Jane was SO excited. Her eyes popped open when she saw the water. For about ten minutes she kept shouting "Ocean, Boat, Kite, Ice Cream, Baby, Dog!"

A friend of mine teaches religion to a 3rd grade communion class, and she said the parties are totally out of hand- they're closer to weddings, and the preparations are so involved (invitations, a band, a hall . . .) that the kids really have a hard time focusing on why they're having the party.
I think I had family over, and we had lunch for my first communion.
Hope all is well on your end of the world! We're enjoying what we call a 'dejiled danske sommer' - temps in the 60s and rain. ;) Anyone want to trade?
Karen, what a beautiful picture, and how sweet to hear Li'l Jane's exclamations of her world! Oh, to be young again and completely enveloped in the glory of the moment! Blow a kiss for us to the next lighthouse you see - we miss the coast! :)
