A small greeting of sorts

Hello Hunnies! Here's a get-well wish for Jenn - sounds like this has been an Officially Un-Fun Month for her!

What's new with the Wilbers

I figured it was about time I poked my head back in and said hi. Its been a long winter hibernating - somewhat literally.
The boys are all doing well. Lucas is thriving in school and starting to read. He's anxious for spring and ready to get back out on his bike and playing baseball again. He'll start Little League in May so as soon as the snow melts and the sun returns we'll start some "spring training." He's also developed a real love of crafts and will sit and scrapbook and stamp with me for hours. Well, if we had hours to do such things he would. We went to an all-day crop in Feb and he came with me. That was a lot of fun.
Connor is still Connor. If it can be climbed on or over, jumped on or off of, swung or swung by, he's there. His passions right now include anything from the Cars movie or Thomas the Train. We've discovered that although not as easy as VCR tapes, it IS possible to wear out a Cars DVD. When your just 3 years old can recite 90% of the movie and can work the remote better than you, you know he's watched it at least a few times. Connor is sleeping much better thanks to regular chiropractic visits and a change in our diets (more about that later).
Aidan is the happiest little toddler I've ever met. He wakes up and smiles, is happy and pleasant all day long and like his mommy, is ready for bed and goes right to sleep without a peep. Now that he's walking (and semi-running), he's his brothers' shadows. He's right there with them playing with cars, trains, planes, balls, books, whatever they are doing. He talks up a storm and will carry on a nice long conversation with you. He's got a handful of intelligible words to go along with the sign he knows but has no problem conveying exactly what he wants.
Matt is overworked and under supported but apparently that's Corporate America for ya. He usually ends up putting in several hours of work at night after the kids go to bed. The last few Saturdays he's been able to get out and "play" a bit. We have good friends that own an auto repair shop and Matt has been able to go down there and get his hands dirty helping out on Saturdays. He has fun and has been learning a lot and I know Ronnie really appreciates the extra help.
My two businesses are going well. Stampin' Up has been quite successful and I am holding at least two workshops a month. I'm working toward my next title promotion and learning lots of new techniques to share at workshops and classes. The other business, Thoughtfully Yours, has a steady flow of business right now and MaryBeth & I have several craft shows and festivals lines up for the summer so we are working to increase our inventory and get ready for those. Matt & I just finished a 6 week class from our chiropractor's office on health, nutrition, time mngment and stress mngment. It was amazing and has really changed our eating habits. We've eliminated most processed (and fyi, undigestable) foods, changed to mostly organic and fresh food and cut out cow's milk (which was only intended for baby cows!) and sugar. We've become soooo educated on food and health and although the changes may seem drastic, they were so easy. The kids have adjusted really easy, my energy level has skyrocketed AND I've lost weight! Anyway, if you are interested in more, email me and I'll tell ya all about it.
I guess I'll close with our big news. July 2nd Matt & I will fly out to enjoy 16 days touring Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England - WITHOUT kids. We decided that making it our 10th anniversary deserved celebrating so the tickets are purchased! We are really excited about it! Well I guess that's it from here so I should probably go and get my day started. Take care.

Housy stuff

Hi all! Anna continues to enjoy walking on her own. You never know with her if a skill will stick or disappear for a while. I went to an appointment today to fit her for a new bracing system that would be a pain in the behind because it's like a wet suit. Imagine trying to change a diaper and having to take off her pants and a wet suit! Anyway, they said "Let's give her a month to practice walking without the suit." Praise the Lord!! We don't have to go down that road yet.

The house is on hold, sadly. The roads are posted (too mushy from the thaw) so they can't get the concrete trucks in for the garage foundation and the truck to drill the well. The builder might be willing to pour some of the concrete by hand just to keep the project going. We'll see. Of course I'd like to get out of here ASAP but the real concern is getting Nate's parents moved before they go to Russia in early July. In the mean time, I'm completely absorbed in cleaning this place top to bottom. It takes a lot of energy! Nate and I had a romantic evening scrubbing the kitchen floor together. :) Not really romantic.

In other good news, Nate is getting a lot of projects in for East Light! Some people are coming back for more copies of parties he's shot. That's the best kind of work since it takes very little time to make copies.

I've been so out of touch with you all. How is Jenn? Are you able to get up and about? How is Kris? Are you on a more normal schedule? How's the Twin Momma? Is life ever normal?? Heather, what are you up to these days? I hope that you are all well and rolling with life as it comes. In the words of one of my favorite poets, Longfellow, "Let us then be up and doing, with a heart for any fate. Still achieving, still pursuing, learn to labor and to wait."

On the road again.

But it turns out I CAN wait to get back on the road again.

I mean, the road to the hospital, which I've traveled all too often recently. Yesterday around 5:15pm, Jenn called me back from the mailbox on my cell phone, stating she had this sharp pain in her left side around her waist. After 45 minutes of trying to figure out what was going on, we drove her to the hospital. Turns out she has some kidney stones, the largest measuring 5mm (thanks to an ultrasound). She was screaming in pain until about 11pm last night when a third round of a good dosage of IV drugs made her pass out.

She's admited to the hospital, heavily drugged, and I'm off work today and however long I need to be with the kids. Thankfully our friend Jeff from our playgroup came over to get the kids yesterday - he fed them dinner, put them to bed, and hung out at the house until 1am when I got home. He even took out the trash.

Jenn called and she also has a uniary infection too. Waiting to hear what they plan to do.

Back to the kids. Trying to figure out supper. "Meat...it's what's for dinner."

Matt
